"D22 Leaves Bridgeton"

After just 8 weeks since D22 arrived in Bridgeton, today was the day scheduled for her to be uplifted by the scrapman. The plan was for D22 to donate useful parts towards D23's restoration, and every single component removed from D22 will help towards D23 restoration as well as keeping her going afterwards.

First of all, one last job was to remove the Timtronic mount - which was fixed from underneath. For quickness, the mount was cut out using an angle grinder.

The chain proved to be insufficient.... Or so we thought... As the brakes had no air they bound on, so the front brakes were wound off (as in the case of every other bus!). But D22 would not shift, even with a pole. Then we realised the back brakes had to be wound off too... And by that time the pole was already in place, so we continued to use it.
