| By today, I was made aware that sister D22 would be withdrawn from service on expiry of her MOT on 16th October and would not be retested. D22 would ultimately be sent for scrap, should a buyer not be found for her, so a start was made going round D23 identifying parts which would be required off D22 - if i had the opportunity to use her for parts recovery. Today, close up photographs were taken of D23's parts which were needing replaced from parts off D22. Obviously the main item required was the gearbox! |
