"Window Recovery" |
|
| |
A visit to Dunsmore Recovery in Larkhall to source a replacement window for D23 was today's mission. Three R-Types were in the yard (First Glasgow Citybus F97FYS and two Stagecoach Olympians C619LFT and C625LFT). Unfortunately the First Glasgow Citybus and one of the Stagecoach Olympians suffered "Etched Window" syndrom and were of no use. Luckily, the second Stagecoach Olympian's windows were much better.
Many thanks to John Kennedy for helping retrieve the window, and also Jim and Myra at Dunsmore Recovery for allowing us to retrieve the required glass. |

| This turned out to be an interesting excercise to remove the glass as no ladders were available..! An initial attempt at standing on the drivers front window proved insecure, so the eventual plan was to remove the front nearside upper window, lean out and remove the beading from the front then loosen the rubber and remove the front nearside window, before moving onto the required front offside window. |
